BP lets chemistry go


BP sells Sericol for $119 million

BP has sold Burmah Castrol's special printing chemical arm to investment company Saratoga Partners for $119 million.

The British supermajor expects the sale of the unit, Sericol, to be completed in the first quarter of 2003, the company said in a statement.

New York-based Saratoga Partners specialise in private equity investments.
