Japan in oilsands plunge


JCOS to spend $350m on plant

Japan Canada Oil Sands plans to begin commercial production of oilsands in five years at a cost of $350 million.

The company, which has been active in R&D in the Canadian oilsands business since 1978, will build a 50,000 barrel per day plant about 50 kilometres south of Fort McMurray in Alberta.
