Australian explorer Victoria Petroleum is planning to carry out two seismic surveys over three exploration permits in the Cooper basin, South Australia.
The company plans to carry out a 90 square kilometre 3D seismic survey in PEL 115 that will assist in delineating the boundaries of the Mirage and Ventura oilfileds as well as identifying a number of exploration prospects for drilling.
This survey is expected to begin in late August this year and should be completed by the middle of September.
Processing and interpretation will follow immediately to mature prospects for drilling and to establish a development drilling programme for the two fields.
Victoria will also carry out a 311 kilometre 2D seismic survey over PEL 111 and PEL 104 to delineate several prospects for drilling in the second half of 2005. This survey is expected to start in late July.
