Gulf Keystone reaps Algerian bounty

Gulf Keystone Petroleum has flowed both oil and gas from a onshore well in block 126 in Algeria following a successful workover.

The GKS-2 well, which was discovered by state oil company Sonatrach in 1994, flowed 4586 barrels of oil and 4.6 million cubic feet of gas per day from intervals between 3685 metres and 3794 metres in the Turonian and Cenomanian reservoirs.

The well had flowed 2737 bpd and 2.2 MMcfd during initial testing by Sonatrach.
