Australia’s Sundance Energy has sealed a deal with Deka Exploration to take part in a new oil development called the North Washington prospect that lies in Oklahoma’s McClain County in the US.
The play’s first well is set to spud around the 1 May and will be drilled to around 10,000 feet. The initial well is targeting conventional reserves in the Bromide, Tulip Creek, McLish and Oil Creek formations.
The prospect has a strong production history, with about 20 wells completed as producers out of around 30 wells in the area, 11 of which were significant producers and two of which are still producing, said Sundance.
North Washington includes two to three further drilling locations assuming success with the initial well.
Sundance will have a working interest of around 6% to 7% across the North Washington prospect.
