Shell boss: Jeroen van der Veer
Trio called in for LNG floater talks
Three engineering and construction consortia have been invited by Shell to attend clarification meetings in the contest to build the Anglo-Dutch supermajor's first floating liquefaction vessel.
The three groups that submitted bids on 5 January were:
¿ Technip with Samsung Heavy Industries; ¿ JGC Corporation with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering; ¿ Chiyoda with Hyundai Heavy Industries.
Each party has been invited by Shell for face-to-face meetings between mid-February and early March, said sources.
There was a suggestion by some in the market that all three bids to Shell had been non-compliant and declined to accept the level of risk the operator was seeking.
