Seadrill snares West Triton gig

By Upstream staff

Norway's Seadrill said today it has won a letter of intent from a consortium of five operators for the jack-up West Triton for work off Australia.

Seadrill said the contract is for 310 days, including mobilisation and demobilisation, and is worth about $85 million.

The West Triton is currently being built by PPL in Singapore. The start of operations is scheduled for the first quarter of 2008, following delivery of the unit, Seadrill added.
