Technip and Subsea 7 lift Alve deal

By Upstream staff

Technip and Subsea 7 have won a contract from Statoil worth about $51 million for development work on the Alve field off Norway.

The contract covers project management, engineering, procurement, installation, installation support and pre-commissioning of a rigid production flowline.

This 16-kilometre carbon steel flowline with internal corrosion resistant alloy cladding will have a direct electrical heating cable with a mechanical protection system. It will be installed between the Norne floating production, storage and offloading vessel and the Alve L template.

Technip pipelay vessel Apache will install the flowline in mid-2008.
