The company, formed by the recent merger between Det Norske Ojleselskap and BP Norge, will use the ultra-harsh environment jack-up Maersk Interceptor to drill well 25/2-18B on production licence 442.

This will be the third well drilled on the licence in the Alvheim area, following the 25/2-18S discovery well that was completed in August and the 25/2-18A appraisal, which was given the go-ahead by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) in early September.
