EnQuest said oil began flowing about one year after the development was approved and ahead of previous forecasts for production in the first half of 2017. The fields lie roughly 160 kilometres north-east of Aberdeen and are estimated to hold up to 15 million barrels of oil.

EnQuest operates Scolty-Crathes in a 50:50 partnership with Hungary’s Mol.

Enquest also said this week it has closed a financial restructuring package and new fundraising that included an issue of new shares to raise £82 million ($100 million).
