Testing from Hawkley’s first operated well on the licence, Chernetska-1, had found oil and gas shows in different horizons but subsequent testing was inconclusive due to a mechanical failure in the casing.
Hawkley’s technical team were evaluating well data to determine whether further testing at a later date with a workover rig was worthwhile.
In an announcement, company chief executive Richard Reavley said the company had been encouraged by the shows despite the testing failure.
