The total perforated interval at the well, a sidetrack to the PEN-105 well completed in April 2012, is now 24 metres of the gross 59 metres of Miocene volcaniclastic reservoir.

Flow tests were carried out as the additional perforations were made, with a strong well response indicating that acid stimulation would not be necessary.

The deeper perforated intervals were below the previously defined gas-water contact, which Ascent said would result in an increase of the gas reserves that were able to be produced.
