The shale gas and tight oil industries in North America continue to remain the focus point for US players, like Hess and ConocoPhillips, as their development remains economic.
“Shale is a different operating model and I think the independents have done a pretty good job in terms of operating efficiently,” chief executive of Hess, John Hess, said during a panel session at the Oil & Money conference in London.
