Keppel Offshore & Marine’s BrasFels shipyard has delivered the first “replicant” floating production, storage and offloading unit to Brazil’s Petrobras, although the oil company’s broader project for multiple Brazilian-built floaters bears little resemblance to the original concept.
The delivery took place on Saturday, but with little of the pomp and ceremony that used to accompany such proceedings prior to the infamous “Car Wash” corruption scandal.
