InterDam, the Dutch supplier of fire and blast resistant doors and walls to the oil and gas industry, is advocating more careful consideration of the effects of both blast and fire on oilfield architecture.
The company says that current regulations, “while adequate, if viewed in isolation, do not consider the possible consequences of a blast followed by fire, which recent studies have revealed happens in over 50% of cases”.
