Water injection is used widely to boost recovery by as much as 20% and is critical for the economic success of many subsea and deep-water developments.
However, water injector wells present such challenges as crossflow, backflow and water hammer, which cause fines to build up inside the sand screen, impairing injection flow.
Cascade3 is the product of two years of “intensive” research and development, and prevents sand production, which increases the longevity of subsea water injection wells and requires operators to drill fewer wells to maintain production, Tendeka says.
