Flexible Engineered Solutions International (FES) has developed new swivel technology for a major Chinese manufacturer of marine equipment.
The DNV GL-certified CALM Buoy Swivel includes new swivel technology that allows the buoy to rotate while maintaining a leak-free joint between the subsea pipelines and vessel during the transfer of fluid, FES says.
The new swivel enables the replacement of seals on board without the requirement to bring the main buoy into a repair yard, significantly reducing maintenance downtime, the company says.
