ExxonMobil inherited the infestation when it bought land near the family's property from a previous owner who had brought in alligators from Louisiana, according to court documents. The family claimed it felt menaced by the pack of reptiles on the plot next to their large property.
Justice Ann Lamar said ExxonMobil was not liable because the family could not prove where the reptilian infestation originated.
