In the auction held earlier this month for drilling rights on state and local lands, Louisiana's Office of Mineral Resources received bids on 11 tracts spread across East Feliciana and Saint Helena parishes, both considered to be in or near the fairway of the Tuscaloosa Marine.
Comstock Oil & Gas and Halcon Resources, which have both ramped up activity in the play in recent months, were the primary bidders.
