The Obama administration denied reports Friday evening that it would approve an easement allowing the completion of the hotly contested Dakota Access pipeline.
According to Politico, an administration official said: "The process is ongoing and no decisions have been made," regarding the pipeline.
Approval would be a blow to environmental and Native American groups, who have protested the pipeline for months, worried that construction could impact the water supply and desecrate important cultural sites.
