Senegal is to bar entry to passengers travelling from the European Union as the emerging oil and gas nation takes measures to guard against the spread of Covid-19.

Senegal — which has BP and Woodside Petroleum, among others, as active operators — on Thursday reported the number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus to have passed 7000 ,with five more deaths recorded in the previous 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 121.

The National Center for Emergency Operations director Abdoulaye Bousso also said the contagion has not abated.
