Pale Blue Dot Energy, operator of the Acorn carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in the UK, has undergone a major corporate restructuring that will see it acquired by Storegga Geotechnologies, with Australia’s Macquarie Group becoming a cornerstone investor.

London-based Storegga is controlled by three former executives of Ophir Energy — Alan Booth, Nick Cooper and Jonathan Taylor — with a long pedigree of exploration success in the UK North Sea and Africa.

Storegga will become the new holding company for Pale Blue Dot.
