OPINION: Total has joined the growing list of European oil majors setting out their energy transition stalls, with a new commitment to net zero carbon emissions by 2050 or sooner.

The French oil giant has underlined its green credentials by adding six gigawatts of renewable power capacity in the first three months of the year.

Total is now well on track to secure a target of 25 GW of installed renewable power generation by 2025, while it has also won Europe’s largest electric vehicle charging contract in the Netherlands.
