Thailand’s national upstream company PTTEP is investing in a lower-carbon future, with carbon capture and storage projects planned at its producing Arthit field offshore Thailand and its under-development Lang Lebah field offshore neighbouring Malaysia.
The operator is hoping to take the final investment decision for the Arthit CCS pilot project this year, with the first carbon dioxide injection into a depleted reservoir aimed for 2026 at a rate of up to 1 million tonnes per annum.
