Representatives of Europe’s carbon capture and storage industry met with top European Commission officials to discuss policy issues and to present advanced plans for upcoming projects, which they agreed are needed on the continent's path to net zero.
The talks — with EC executive vice president Frans Timmermans — were organised by Zero Emissions Platform (ZEP), an industry group that advises the European Commission.
“For the first time, the whole CCS value chain [was] represented jointly at a meeting with high-level representatives of the European Commission," said ZEP chairman Graeme Sweeney.
