Buru revealed on Friday the Ungani-3 well had encountered hydrocarbon shows in the top of the Ungani Dolomite consistent with those observed in previous wells at the field.
It added that it was currently carrying further technical analysis of the results from its latest well at the field which lies in the onshore Perth basin.
Buru will now pull out of the hole before running casing and then drilling ahead through the interpreted Ungani Dolomite reservoir where a full evaluation of the reservoir parameters including porosity and permeability, fluid contacts, and flow potential will be carried out.
