The Oslo-listed floating production contractor, which boosted net profit significantly last year on higher revenue, is understood to be the front-runner for the award of a newbuild unit on Premier Oil’s Catcher field off the UK, with a decision due in the second quarter to coincide with project sanction by the British operator.

Premier last week revealed it is looking to develop the field using a ship-shaped floating production, storage and offloading vessel when unveiling its proposed concept last week in an investor presentation that featured a slide with an illustration of BW’s concept.
