The UK operator on Thursday unveiled details of the development concept for the field that will form a new North Sea hub, with total capital expenditure targeted at $2.25 billion to tap an initial three discoveries – Catcher, Varadero and Burgman – as subsea tiebacks to the FPSO.
BW and Teekay have been locked in a tight two-way bidding contest for the coveted floater award, with the latter offering a Sevan 650 unit with storage capacity of 650,000 barrels based on Sevan Marine’s trademark circular design, after Bluewater earlier dropped out of the hunt.
