The company is evaluating three potential routings of the pipeline and is expected to finish the front-end engineering and design work by end-June.

The first route will follow the first pipeline, which runs 2830 kilometres from Atyrau in Kazakhstan to the Chinese border at Alashankou, while the second option will follow the first route till Kumkol, from where it will run to Atasu and then follow the same first route to Alashankou.
