The North Dakota Petroleum Council’s (NPDC) flaring task force told state regulators that they can cut flaring at the same time as boosting oil production by speeding development of midstream infrastructure and better planning of their drilling programmes, to take advantage of the new capacity.
“Individual companies have come together to present a comprehensive plan that will help reduce flaring from current levels, even as oil and gas production significantly increases,” said Ron Ness, president of the NDPC.
