The 7222/11-2 probe being drilled by semi-submersible Transocean Barents in Det Norske-operated production licence 659 is targeting an unrisked gross prospective resource estimate of 220 million barrels of oil equivalent.
The well has “identified hydrocarbon shows from core samples”, Oslo-listed Det Norske said in a statement on Monday, while not stating whether it was oil or gas.
It underlined that drilling is still ongoing and final results are not yet available.
