The contract was awarded by a 50:50 joint venture between Exmar and Pacific Rubiales Energy subsidiary, and will see Wison be responsible for the turnkey engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning.

In a separate release Exmar said it was currently negotiating a long-term charter for the unit, adding an award was expected by mid-year.

The regasification unit will be built at Wison's facility in Nantong, China, where it is already in the process of building the Caribbean FLNG project which was also awarded by Exmar and Pacific Rubiales.
