Timor-Leste’s national oil company has unveiled how it plans to develop the Greater Sunrise fields in the Timor Sea in alignment with the Paris Agreement goals.

Timor GAP chief executive Antonio de Sousa said the company plans to optimise the Greater Sunrise fields in the best way possible to “protect the environmental guarantee for the future” of the country, he told Upstream on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 2022 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

Upstream reported in March that the Timor-Leste government plans to finalise by the end of this year certain vital agreements required to take the Woodside Energy-operated project into the next development phase.
