Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has fired the starting pistol in the chase for a framework agreement covering work on multiple wellhead towers in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, with several leading offshore contractors already in the picture.

Three people with direct knowledge of the development told Upstream that the state-owned giant recently sought interest from engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) players with respect to the mooted framework agreement.

The model being offered by Adnoc is akin to Saudi Aramco’s lucrative long term agreement (LTA) with EPCI players covering brownfield and modification work on offshore oil and gas facilities in Saudi Arabia, one of them noted.
