Angola’s state oil company has made contact with a proponent of floating liquefied natural gas technology to explore deployment options in the country’s offshore waters.

There has been considerable market talk about the possibility for FLNG vessels being used elsewhere in Africa, but Angola’s potential has been very much below the radar.

This is despite the country being the continent’s biggest oil producer, with the bulk of its associated gas being fed by a major network of offshore pipelines to the onshore Angola LNG plant at Soyo.
