Chinese offshore operator CNOOC Ltd will develop the Huizhou 26-6 oilfield — one of its latest finds in the South China Sea — using a floating production, storage and offloading vessel.

CNOOC Ltd Shenzhen, which is spending considerable time and resources exploring and developing the field in the Pearl River Mouth basin, has completed a conceptual development plan for the Huizhou 26-6 oil play, well-placed sources told Upstream.

A 2021 discovery, Huizhou 26-6 was hailed as the first commercial discovery the company had made in this region in more than a decade.
