Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil exporter, is nearing the decision phase for up to six key contracts involving multiple offshore fields in the country as it aims to scale up upstream spending not seen for several years.

Two people familiar with the development told Upstream that the Saudi state-owned company is within weeks of awarding half-a-dozen offshore maintenance and brownfield contracts offered as part of the company’s long term agreement (LTA) with international contracting giants.

The projects are termed contract release purchase orders (CRPOs) and include — CRPO 87, CRPO 88, CRPO 89, CRPO 90, CRPO 91 and CRPO 92, one person said.
