Italy’s Eni will hit the market with bid documents next year for the subsea and floating production infrastructure needed for its huge Baleine project offshore the Ivory Coast.

Baleine — the Ivory Coast’s biggest discovery for some 20 years — is currently estimated to contain up to 2 billion barrels of oil and as much as 2.4 trillion cubic feet of gas, with further information on its resources to be gleaned from a two-well appraisal programme that has just started.
