Eni is on the hunt for a drillship to spud a highly anticipated deep water wildcat in cyclone-prone waters in Mozambique this year.

The Italian major operates the Area 5-A licence in the frontier Angoche basin, which is believed to be oil-prone and where no wells have been drilled to date.

Drillship owners have until the end of 22 June to respond to an expression of interest just released by Eni covering the Raia-1 probe which is due to be drilled in the fourth quarter of 2022 over 45 days.
