Chevron and Thailand’s PTTEP have locked horns over the giant producing Erawan gas condensate asset offshore Thailand that the national upstream company is due to take over from the US supermajor next April.
Chevron’s existing Erawan concession is due to expire in 10 months’ time and PTTEP is taking over the mature Gulf of Thailand asset under a new production sharing contract.
However, the soon-to-be operator claims it has been unable to get its sought access to Erawan during the transition phase.
