Canadian independent Valeura Energy is considering a mobile offshore production unit (Mopu)-based solution to exploit the Rossukon oilfield offshore Thailand, located on acreage it recently acquired from the now defunct KrisEnergy.

The former operator had a field development plan based on a stand-alone platform for Rossukon approved by the Thai regulator, the Department of Mineral Fuels.

However, that development concept in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and prevailing supply chain issues could be “challenging”, Valeura chief executive Sean Guest told Upstream.
