India’s Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) is aiming to sell two mobile offshore production units (MOPU) intended for its west coast developments, after years of delay involving their conversion and modification projects.

Two people familiar with the development told Upstream that state-controlled ONGC recently sought interest from players to sell a MOPU and an under-conversion jack-up that are stranded at an Indian yard.

The MOPU is the Sagar Laxmi, for which a modification contract was awarded to Pipavav Defence & Offshore Engineering (now Reliance Naval & Engineering) in 2012.
