Oil India Limited has kicked off the contracting chase for development of a shallow-water gas project in the Krishna Godavari basin, off the country’s eastern coast.

The state-owned player recently initiated a bidding process for the development of offshore block KG-OSDSF/GSKW/2018 which covers almost 94 square kilometres, according to two people with direct knowledge of it.

The shallow-water asset was awarded to the company in 2019 as a part of India’s Discovered Small Fields (DSF) bid round and has existing gas discoveries.
