India’s state-controlled Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has fired the starting gun on a key offshore project that involves the fifth redevelopment phase of its flagship Mumbai High field off the country’s western coast.

People with direct knowledge of the project told Upstream that ONGC recently launched the tender process for the fresh development phase.

ONGC has carried out multiple redevelopment phases at the ageing Mumbai High asset over the past two decades, aimed at rejuvenating production from one of India’s oldest offshore oilfields.
