Petrobras has launched a tender to contract a proprietary 3D seismic survey covering three large pre-salt fields in the prolific Santos basin offshore Brazil.

The Brazilian state-controlled oil company has invited seismic players to submit commercial offers on 22 March to carry out a 3D campaign featuring the use of ocean-bottom node (OBN) technology in the Atapu, Berbigao and Sururu fields.

The so-called Great Iara project will cover approximately 2032 square kilometres in water depths ranging from 1900 to 2400 metres, geophysical industry sources told Upstream.
