Brazilian oil giant Petrobras has issued an invitation to tender to contract the subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines package meant to serve the Buzios-9 pre-salt project in the prolific Santos basin.
The bidding opportunity will contemplate the rigid riser-based system for the P-80 — the first of three large floating production, storage and offloading vessels that was ordered by Petrobras last year with Asian shipyards to be deployed at Buzios.
Petrobras has invited subsea players including TechnipFMC, Subsea 7, Saipem and Sapura Energy to submit commercial bids on 1 March, with sources pegging the Buzios-9 Surf contract as potentially worth close to $1 billion.
