Brazilian oil giant Petrobras has issued a tender to contract one flotel, as it seeks to increase its fleet of accommodation and maintenance units operating at its major producing fields.

Industry sources told Upstream that Petrobras invited contractors to submit commercial proposals on 14 October.

Petrobras is offering a 650-day contract. The chartered flotel must be ready to begin operations 235 days after awarding of the deal, likely in the second half of 2023.

Petrobras suggested in the bidding documents it wants the flotel to work in the Campos, Santos and Espirito Santo basins.
