Petrobras is working on plans to deploy two giant floating production, storage and offloading vessels to develop pre-salt oil from the Sepia-2 and Atapu-2 projects in Brazil’s prolific Santos basin.

According to conceptual studies, Petrobras has begun presenting to its partners on the Atapu and Sepia fields FPSOs that could have processing capacity for up to 225,000 barrels per day of oil each.

Petrobras last month welcomed new partners, including Shell and TotalEnergies in Atapu and TotalEnergies, Petronas and QatarEnergy in Sepia, following the results of a bid round for the sale of surplus volumes on both fields.
