Petrobras has launched a tender to contract new subsea equipment and replace ageing gas export infrastructure in the Campos basin offshore Brazil, as it takes further steps to ensure a proper revitalisation of mature fields in the prolific play.

Over the past few years, state-controlled Petrobras has been injecting cash to redevelop part of its Campos basin producing assets in an effort to curtail the natural decline of mature fields and add output from potential new discoveries.

Well-informed industry sources told Upstream that Petrobras has issued an invitation to tender for an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract, with commercial bids scheduled for 11 October.
