Brazil’s Petrobras has launched a tender to contract seismic services covering an area where the state-controlled oil company is looking to deploy its second floating production, storage and offloading vessel in the deep waters of the Sergipe-Alagoas basin.

The company is currently in the process of contracting the first Sergipe-Alagoas floater — labelled the P-81 FPSO — and is already making preparations for a second FPSO project, with installation targeted for after 2026.

Brazil's biggest operator has summoned contractors including Fugro, DOF Subsea, Gardline and Ocean Infinity to submit commercial bids on 13 January, specifying acquisition, processing and interpretation of high frequency geophysics data in Sergipe-Alagoas, according to well-placed sources.
